Every Child A Talker (ECAT)
Little Stars Pre-School are part of ‘Every Child
a Talker’ (ECAT) Programme. This programme is designed
to strengthen all children’s language development by
ensuring we are providing a developmentally appropriate, supportive
and stimulating environment in which children can enjoy experimenting
with and learning language. We work in partnership with parents
to determine next steps for individual children.
Reading Connects
Little Stars Pre-school is proud to be chosen as one of
the five settings in Harrow taking part in the Early Reading
Connects project in conjunction with the Early Years Team.
This project emphasises on the importance of reading to your
child and how this will help your child with their language
development. ‘The purpose of the project is to develop
a range of visual materials, pertinent to Harrow to inspire
practitioners in other settings with using the Early Reading
Connects materials. The initial aim is to disseminate information
to 6 already good-outstanding settings. These settings will
be asked to trial the materials and also develop their own
support and case study materials. The project will be presented
as a way of enhancing already effective practice’ (Early
Years and Community Services)
Early Years Professional Status - EYPS
To improve quality and provide a higher level of care
and support with a leader achieving a EYPS qualification and
implementing practices of a high standard.
Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators (SENCO)
The leaders will be helping to recognise and work together
with children and families that may require different types
and levels of support for Special need cases.
Phonics Sounds and Letters
Little Stars Pre-School follow the phonics sounds and
letters guidance, and plan activities to support and encourage
children though fun activities that promote speaking and listening
skills.
